White Ribbon For Women 2016 Campaign

To raise awareness on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on the 25 November, the Kering Foundation launched the 5th edition of the White Ribbon for Women campaign from 18 to 27 November 2016.

The Kering Foundation’s White Ribbon campaign aims to break the silence on Violence Against Women and the root causes of this worldwide issue.

Stella McCartney, Board director of the Kering Foundation, designed a limited edition White Ribbon for Women brooch. From November 18, this badge was distributed in more than 800 boutiques of the Kering Group brands worldwide. 

Each year, the campaign grew bigger and raised awareness of a larger audience. In 2016, 230,000 White Ribbon for Women brooches and stickers have been distributed across 51 countries and in over 800 boutiques between to customers of 10 Kering luxury brands: Gucci, Alexander McQueen, McQueen, Balenciaga, Brioni, Stella McCartney, Boucheron, Dodo, Pomellato and Queelin. 




In parallel, the Kering Foundation launched #BeHerVoice, a social media campaign encouraging everyone to raise awareness of violence against women. #BeHerVoice gives a voice to those who do not wish to speak out for themselves, and encourages those who do wish to speak out to share their stories.

In 2016, the Foundation focused on men's role in ending violence against women. Three testimonials of women survivors supported by the Kering Foundation were delivered by male celebrities. 

Over 1.1 billion people were potentially reached by the campaign across the world.

Crowdfunding Campaign

During this campaign, you had the opportunity to choose to support one of the Kering Foundation’s NGO partners. Each partner was presenting a project supporting women survivors for which you could donate money. Your donation went directly to the chosen NGO.
