GSF: A psycho-medico-social follow-up for refugee women in Calais

Since September 2015, the Kering Foundation supports Gynécologie Sans Frontières and its project “Caminor” in Calais, Northern France. GSF is an NGO aimed at respecting human dignity by following women at a medically, psychologically and social level. It’s in 1995 that a group of gynecologists and midwives decided to take action by creating the association GSF, aimed to operate in countries or areas where health infrastructures are inadequate or even inaccessible.

The Kering Corporate Foundation is offering its support to the GSF’s “Caminor Project”, which proposes a follow-up for women in the 5 refugees camps in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais French region, through

  • Gynecological and obstetrical monitoring: consultations, abortion, contraceptives, miscarriage and STDs
  • Referencing in case of cardiac malformation, twin pregnancies…
  • Awareness and prevention
  • Support for victims of violence

More than 230 patients are received each month for a consultation, including 68 pregnant women. The number of consultations is constantly growing.
