This year, to mobilize around November 25th, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Kering Foundation is partnering with Modern Films to launch the 16 Days 16 Films competition in the UK, France and Italy.
16 Days 16 Films was created in line with UN Women’s global campaign 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, which runs from November 25th, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women to December 10th, International Human Rights Day.
Submit your short films:
Female filmmakers based in the UK, France and Italy are invited to submit short films of 25 minutes or less, which are inspired by the global combat to end violence against women.
From the submissions, 16 films will be selected by a nomination panel with one film to be released each day on Modern Films, the Kering Foundation, and UK Says No More platforms from 25th November to 10th December 2019.
The campaign will finish with a special screening of all 16 films in London. A jury will select 3 finalists who will be awarded during a ceremony after the screening. The winning filmmaker will receive the opportunity to direct the new UK Says No More PSA (Public Service Announcement).
